University of Minnesota Juneteenth Celebration

Juneteenth is a celebration of abolition, Black freedom, Black joy, Black history, and Black futures. This year's event will focus on themes of disruption, reverberation, and amplification, highlighted by the 2024 theme: We are the Noise - The Echoes of Our Ancestors! The interactive block party will feature a commemorative march, live performances, free food, Black vendors, giveaways, art-making activities, workshops, roller skating, and an engaging kids' zone.

I facilitated Something You Can Feel, a coed gathering that focused on self-care and creativity. Participants engaged in unique activities, including blindfolded painting, which encouraged self-discovery and promoted mental well-being. The soothing backdrop of instrumental music added to the relaxing and reflective atmosphere. The workshop was held in UROC, The Penn Room (125).
